Learning From My Wagering Blunders

[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]

1st to clarify the reason I wrote this essay. I have been wagering on the net or at land based casinos for many years. I have learned, the fixation can take a hold of you and you won’t even realize it up until you are bankrupt. Particularly if you are on a winning streak. I have gone through countless thousands of dollars in only a short amount of time and to this day on occasion, I will go a bit too far. It appears you’re just having a blast until you start to pay attention to your loss and the guilt settles in, and then you continue to tell yourself "I can earn it back" repeatedly. It doesn’t works. Then you become sick in your belly and the more you attempt the faster you lose.

When you notice that you’re up, STAY on the UP! When you begin to be beaten, do not tell yourself, "well perhaps just one more" and again and again, trust me, this logic RARELY ever works. Say you’re betting on slots, have a bankroll put aside before starting your action. DO NOT go over that boundary, no matter how captivating. If you happen to succeed, put that in a different pot. Do not risk your winnings no matter what. Once you have gone through your original set limit, bail out. Head out, regardless if it is on the web or at a brick and mortar betting house, do not stay around. Always remember, there is going to be another day, another time.

Remember, wagering is assumed to be exciting not exhausting, sickening work! If you aren’t enjoying yourself, you do not belong there. If youcan’t afford the cost, do not even start.
